Every girl deserves a place where she feels safe, heard and believed.
For girls escaping violence, abuse, child marriage, trafficking or exploitation, that place often doesn’t exist.
Our Safe House in Janakpur is the only specialist safe house for underage girls in this part of Nepal, providing emergency protection, education, counselling and long-term support to help girls rebuild their lives and regain hope for the future.
Every girl receives individual care tailored to her circumstances, allowing her to heal at her own pace and begin looking forward again.
Recovery Without a Time Limit
A safe house should be more than somewhere to stay.
It is a place where girls recover from trauma, rediscover their confidence and begin to imagine a future they thought they had lost.
Some girls stay for only a few weeks. Others need much longer. We never rush recovery. Every care plan is built around what is in the girl’s best interests and what she needs to move forward safely.
Our goal is always to help girls build independent, fulfilling lives—whether that means returning safely to their families, continuing their education or moving on to further training or specialist care.
Our Approach
Protection
Providing immediate safety, emotional support and 24-hour care in a nurturing family environment.
Healing
Counselling, healthcare, legal support and individual care plans that help girls recover from trauma and rebuild confidence.
Education & Opportunity
Helping every girl return to education, develop life skills and prepare for an independent future through learning and vocational opportunities.
Reintegration
Supporting girls to return safely to their families wherever possible, or helping them move towards other long-term solutions that are right for them.
Life at the Safe House
The Safe House feels like a home, not an institution.
Girls attend school, take part in art, music and sports, celebrate festivals, enjoy outings and gradually rediscover the simple moments of childhood that violence too often takes away.
Many enjoy gardening, creative activities, boxing and exercise, helping them rebuild confidence while creating friendships that often last long after they leave.
Surrounded by a dedicated team of female staff, girls find consistency, encouragement and the freedom to simply be children again.
Working With Schools
Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation.
We work closely with police, healthcare professionals, Community Female Health Volunteers, social workers, schools and local authorities to ensure girls receive coordinated support from the moment they enter our care until they are safely reintegrated into the community.
These partnerships also help us identify girls at risk earlier and ensure that support reaches those who need it most.
Every Girl’s Story Is Different
No two girls arrive with the same experiences. Some need emergency protection. Some need legal support. Some simply need time to recover. Every girl receives support tailored to her individual circumstances, and we never rush the healing process.
Whatever her story, our commitment remains the same: to provide the care, protection and opportunities she needs to build the future she chooses.
